Discover how Sweden’s national broadcaster integrated Limecraft with Avid to generate subtitles at the touch of a button, helping journalists subtitle 100% of on-demand news while saving millions of Swedish kronor each year. 7000 items and 500 hours per month.
02
Import scripts, custom dictionaries or glossaries, existing subtitle files or a master subtitle template to provide additional linguistic and editorial context. Limecraft can automatically compensate for differences in frame rate and timecode offset, allowing existing subtitle material to be aligned accurately with the uploaded media and reused instead of recreated from scratch.
03
Use automated speech recognition to convert dialogue into a searchable, time-coded transcript in virtually any language. The transcript can then be translated using integrated machine translation, creating a strong first version for multilingual subtitling while preserving the link between every sentence, speaker and position in the source media.
04
Review the transcript directly alongside the video, with every word linked to the corresponding timecode. Correct recognition errors, speaker identification, punctuation and specialist terminology in a purpose-built editor, while using search, playback controls and collaborative review features to complete post-editing more efficiently and establish a reliable source for the next steps.
05
Convert the approved transcript or translation into correctly segmented and timed subtitles using your own configurable style guide. Apply rules for reading speed, line length, minimum and maximum duration, shot changes, speaker changes and subtitle gaps, ensuring that every subtitle set follows the standards of your organisation, customer, broadcaster or distribution platform.
06
Validate the completed subtitles and export them in the technical format required for delivery, review or further processing. Limecraft supports a broad range of professional subtitle formats and preserves essential timing, styling and speaker information, helping you deliver consistently without manually converting files between different customer and platform specifications.
07
Alternatively, export a new video file with the completed subtitles permanently rendered into the picture. Burned-in versions can be used for customer review, compliance checks, social publishing, screeners or final distribution, with control over subtitle appearance and positioning to ensure the result remains clear, readable and consistent with the intended output.
