Limecraft helps documentary and factual productions process large volumes of rushes without creating an equally large workload. Ingest, index, search and shape stories in one secure workspace, so producers and researchers can prepare the edit before valuable edit-suite time is used.
Handle thousands of hours of footage every month from multiple cameras, locations and storage systems, without manual file handling or format conversion.
Use customisable workflows to control where media is stored, copied, backed up or archived. Keep high-resolution originals, working media and proxies in the right place while reducing unnecessary storage costs and manual transfers.
Automatically transcribe and index spoken content, speakers, scenes and other relevant information as footage arrives, reducing hours of repetitive logging.
Search across transcripts, metadata, tags and timecode to retrieve the exact quote, scene or contribution without reviewing entire recordings.
Create selects, clips and paper edits directly in the browser, allowing producers and researchers to shape the story before handing it to an editor.
Export storyboards, clips, sequences, metadata and subtitles directly to Avid Media Composer or Adobe Premiere Pro.

Ingest footage from multiple cameras, locations and storage systems without slowing production down. Limecraft validates files, creates proxies and makes new material available to authorised users as soon as it arrives.
To support their ambitious feature film and docuseries Onze Natuur (‘Our Nature’) featuring Belgium’s wildlife, they extended the workspace thereby optimising for larger picture sizes and massive volumes. Using cold storage managed by Archiware, Scale Logic near-line storage, and Limecraft as the main user interface, they created a cost-effective architecture without compromising on quality.
With teams operating in both the UK and the USA, the key issues for Arrow Media have been how to share content across teams and locations, including managing remote ingest and editing. “Most of our shooting happens in the US. Editorial control sits with the London office, which is also where post-production happens, but we have editorial and archive professionals in a variety of locations and so it’s crucial that we can share and move content around securely and efficiently.”
