The Content Portal or Delivery Workspace now supports Due Dates, further optimising operational efficiency by enabling tracking of deadlines when exchanging media files and complementary metadata. The enhanced Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro introduces version selection, better sequence uploads, and centralised configuration for media consistency. Importing of existing subtitle files sees improvements with advanced time-code offset and frame rate corrections. Additionally, a broader set of languages and regional variants have been added for machine translation. Content Delivery, now with Due Dates Content Delivery is incredibly more complex than just sending files. It is as well about solid exchange of metadata, tracking ancillary files, and automating quality control across stakeholders. Limecraft’s Delivery Workspaces is a content portal jointly operated by producers, broadcasters, and third party service providers, to ensure streamlined, transparent, reliable, and timely order fulfilment and servicing. What’s New? Up to today, the delivery workspace or content portal didn’t use a notion of timing or due dates. Tracking deadlines required you to manage a spreadsheets on the side. As a next important step in streamlining the content delivery process, we introduced the notion of a Due Date. You can attribute it to an entire workspace, i.e. all individual deliverables requested, or more specifically to individual Deliverables (or Delivery Requests). As a result, with a single button click, users can pull up a list of deliverables that are overdue or will be due soon. How It Works As suggested, you can specify Due Dates on the level of the Workspace as a whole, or related to individual deliverables. Upon activation, they become visible in the various overviews, and you can use them when searching for content assets with specific Due Dates, overdue, or due soon. đź’ˇ Due Dates can trigger notifications, but this requires further customisation. Enhanced Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro 2.1 New Functionality of the Panel Whereas the original Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro was intended to make automated transcription, translation, and subtitling instantly accessible to Adobe users via a panel that acts as remote control of what happens on Limecraft, we have been enhancing it for wider use recently. Earlier, as part of the 24.7 release, we added easier navigation including support for collections and breadcrumbs. As of this release, the Limecraft Panel for Adobe Premiere Pro has been considerably enhanced and improved, including but not limited to selection of a version for download (from Limecraft), improved upload of sequences now allowing the user to define the desired quality and to set the clip name, configuration of the sort order of items in the panel, improved account selection, etc. 2.2 Central Configuration In line with our continued effort to centralise mission-critical settings, as a supervisor, you can now enforce the key download and upload settings to control the types of media that travel back and forth Limecraft and Adobe. This ensures consistency in folder structures and encoding formats, in case different users collaborate on the same project. 3. Improved Offset of Subtitling Timing Frame rate mismatches occur when the time-code of the subtitle file and of the media file have a different frame rate. For example, if a subtitle file was created at 24 frames per second (fps) but an updated version of the video now plays at 25 fps or 30 fps, the timing will gradually drift out of sync. This happens because the number of frames per second determines how time-codes are calculated. Converting between frame rates introduces errors, especially when dealing with formats like drop-frame and non-drop-frame time-codes. Timecode offsets can also cause synchronisation issues. Some subtitle files rely on absolute time-codes, meaning they are anchored to a specific time in the video, while others use relative time-codes, starting from zero. If the media file has a pre-roll, an advertisement, or an altered starting point, the subtitles will likely appear too early or too late. To avoid that users have to offset the timing manually, we now provide the tools to automate. Adding to the complexity, different subtitle formats handle timing in their own way. For instance, SRT files use timestamps in milliseconds, while EBU STL files rely on frame-based timing. Converting between these formats may lead to rounding errors or inconsistencies in subtitle appearance, causing subtle but noticeable drift over time. As part of the 24.3 release in May 2024, we shipped an initial implementation of advanced importing of subtitle files, including time-code offset and frame rate correction. However, to compensate for more complex cases, we have now added some extra flexibility in the correction capabilities. 4. Additional Languages for Translation We have made available a wide range of additional languages (Abkhaz, Acehnese, Acholi,…), as well as complementary language flavours (Canadian French – Standard French; Brasilian vs Standard Portuguese) to the machine translation engine for translating transcripts or localisation by translating subtitles. Bonus – a Brand New Limecraft App As part of this release, we made available a brand new Mobile App, now available via the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Using the app, you have your production in your hands. It has all the search and navigation capabilities you expect, allowing you to review and verify content in the shortest possible timeframe.
