Ghent, Belgium, 5th February 2024 – Limecraft is pleased to kick-off the 2024 roadmap with the latest release of our platform – 2024.1 – which went live Tuesday 6th February. This new release includes several important extensions and improvements to existing functionality, including enhanced transcription accuracy, support for 3D image formats, improved timing of translations, and more. The key updates are summarised below.

Improved Transcription Accuracy

Limecraft has always offered the best possible AI transcription service for any given language and use case. This new release sees us rolling out a new ‘enhanced’ operating mode and larger language models to deliver the best results optimised for accuracy. We’ve been working hard on improving accuracy and we will be migrating customers over to the enhanced mode on a rolling basis, as we continue to prove the model.

The main effect of the enhanced operating model is a reduced ‘Word Error Rate’, which in turn reduces the time you need for post-editing the transcript.

💡If you think your process would benefit from more accurate transcription, please get in touch. We will prioritise the migration of your workspaces at no additional cost.

Support for 3D Images

We are always working to support the widest possible range of image formats, and 2024.1 brings support for GLB (Graphics Library Transmission Format in Binary format) files – a standardised file format used for sharing 3D data (including models, scenes, models, lighting, materials, node hierarchy and animations).

This format has become increasingly popular, and so we are delighted to include support for it in this release, enabling customers to view these files in their full three dimensions!

Better Timing of Translated Transcripts

When translating transcripts or subtitles, Limecraft undertakes to fit the best possible timing after machine translation. This is not exact science, as the number of words and the order in which they appear may differ depending on the specific language combination.

As we have previously noticed that some translated subtitles had suboptimal timing, causing excessive post-editing, this release includes a major improvement of the timing fabric of the timing engine. This upgrade solves this issue completely.

Improved Workspace Listing

In case you are working with multiple workspaces linked to one account, keeping track of these can be challenging. This latest release adds in new tools for more efficient handling of workspaces where several exist, including a new list view, column select and sort function.
