August 24, 2021

Audiovisual translation is much more than subtitling, it also encompasses dubbing and accessibility modalities, in particular subtitling for the deaf and hard of hearing, and audio description. The aim of this International Conference is to discuss all the paths of audiovisual translation that shape this reality. At the conference you will have the opportunity to explore trends, innovation and new technologies in audiovisual translation.

The online conference is run by the Association of Translation and Interpreting Professionals (APTRAD), based in Portugal, September 8 – 11 2021. APTRAD aims to bring together professional Portuguese-speaking translators and interpreters and be the gold standard association in the profession.

Thanks to technology, the audiovisual industry today is producing more material than ever and has a huge impact on our daily lives. The conference will cover all aspects of audiovisual translation, including subtitling, dubbing and accessibility methods – including subtitling for the hearing impaired – and audio description.

Limecraft Founder and CEO, Maarten Verwaest, will join other key industry figures at a Round Table to discuss how technology has transformed the AVT market and how new and developing technologies will ensure companies keep up with the ever-increasing and continuous volume of audiovisual content needing to be translated.

Register for the International Translation Conference here. Join us for the Round Table discussion 17:30-19:00 8 September 2021 or in the demo room 16:00 9 september.
