October Updates

The last couple of weeks, we spent a lot of effort on system performance and stability improvements. Thanks to these, you can now manage libraries up to several 100.000’s of items and swiftly ingest extremely large collections in a single job.

Apart from these, a few notable improvements of the Limecraft Flow library have been released, including improved visualisation templates, saved searches or quick views and the ability to manage complementary documents. Here is a short summary.

1. Flexible grouping

As soon as your library grows over a couple of 100’s of items, you will want to group clips per episode, scene and or shot. Using Limecraft Flow this is very convenient, because these data are automatically harvested from the production stage. So the grouping is automated and not prone to errors.

In todays release, it is possible to use different grouping settings depending on the particular use case. The production administrator can set up different grouping templates, which then become visible to all team members.

2. Saving your search query for future use

Another convenient way to save time while searching for the right material fragments, is using saved searches or “Quick Views”. Using a Quick View, you can store filters and search arguments for future use.

To use Quick Views, simply add it on top of your navigation bar on the left hand side.

3. Uploading and managing complementary Documents

Using Limecraft Flow, you can now upload and manage various sorts of documents associated with specific media items. For example, you can use Limecraft Flow to manage scripts, production reports, and even confidential information like copyrights or granted licenses.

4. Integration with Mayam workflow orchestration

For a major Dutch broadcasting service provider, Limecraft and Mayam deployed a fully integrated solution for managing and orchestrating the production of subtitles.

In this particular case, Mayam is in charge of the workflow control. The workflow includes automated tasks such as machine transcription and subtitle creation, but as well manual and slow tasks like transcription post-editing and subtitle verification.

The integration is very complete and solid, not just exchanging data but as as well on the level of the user interface. By doing so, the users remain in context, avoiding errors and loss of time.

5. More languages for machine transcription

To provide better support for our customers in the Asia Pacific region, we are working hard to make available more languages for automatic transcription. As of now, Mandarin is available.
