Ghent, Belgium, 26th March 2024 – Limecraft is very pleased to announce the release of our second platform update of the year – 24.2 – which features a completely redesigned and much improved interface for content sharing.

Sharing

The ability to share content quickly and securely with remote team members and/or trusted third parties is a valuable and popular feature of our platform. It enables powerful, real-time collaboration between team members, speeding up the commenting and approvals process, and making productions more efficient.

💡 To help you understand the changes being introduced, we have produced a short-form document that details the differences between 24.2 and the current version of the platform, and provides ‘before and after’ images for comparison.

Extended Archiving Support

The remainder of the new update relates to the expansion of Limecraft’s archiving capabilities to include support for spanned clips, such as RED.

This update enables users to archive RED material in particular, typically comprising multiple files per clip, as well as other file formats that are represented with a similar file naming pattern. Currently, the span size is restricted to 20 files per clip.

This enhancement applies to both clip and card archiving functionalities, improving the ability of users to archive their data locally (using tape drives), externally (via cloud solutions), or through a combination of both options.

We understand how important it is for our customers to manage and preserve media assets, and we know the additional flexibility provided by this enhancement will be most welcome.
