Backend Software Developer

At Limecraft, we build a next-generation online collaboration and workflow platform used by creative video teams produce top-notch content. We manage their digital production workflows and help them bridge the physical and the digital world. We give them tools to maximise creativity and create more engaging content faster. A state-of-the-art  cloud-based SaaS platform, using state of the art Artificial Intelligence (AI) services for content understanding and enrichment.

From feature film and news production to corporate communications and advertising, content creators take advantage of the cloud to improve collaboration and to streamline their production process. We proudly support the Warner Bros., Arrow International Media, Sveriges Television, ITV, Hotel Hungaria and France Télévisions, among many others.

A customer-centric approach to product management, agile software development processes, and opportunities for constant learning set Limecraft apart. To help us expand and scale up our footprint, we are currently looking for a Backend Software Developer to join our team.

 

What you will do 

Reporting to the CTO, you have a unique opportunity to help us:

  • Developing critical back-end components of the Limecraft platform. You develop rock-solid code that is deployed as part of our multi-tenant highly scalable SaaS platform for media asset management
  • Working on improving and extending integration points of the platform (i.e., the REST API, our Node.js SDKs and libraries, custom workflows and integrations with external data sources and services, etc)
  • Writing documentation on developed features, both for internal use as well as for our partners and customers
  • Helping validate the quality of the software by maintaining  and implementing various automated tests (from small unit tests to full-scale integration tests)
  • Maintaining an active understanding of the platform’s architecture and actively contributing to its evolution and extension

You Have 

  • Excellent programming skills in at least Java (incl. Hibernate and Spring frameworks) and Node.js (Javascript + Typescript) and a thorough understanding of common data structures and algorithms. Ideally, you have gathered 3-5 years of experience in the field, however, junior high potentials are equally welcome!
  • Knowledge about software configuration management and deployment tools (e.g, Ansible and Docker)
  • Notions of scripting (bash, Javascript and a little bit of Python here and there), and a firm grasp of developing with Git version control, Git workflows and at least some experience in developing with CI/CD pipelines
  • A passion for software development and a resourceful mind in finding solutions to complex problems
  • A desire for making things happen, while you also have the ability to change directions and seek new ideas if needed. You are proactive and not afraid to learn – sometimes fail – and learn again
  • Strong team-player skills combined with the ability to work independently when appropriate.

You Might Also Have 

  • Any knowledge in the area of video and audio encoding, file-based media production, video editing and creation tools is a definite plus. In any case, you’re passionate about technology, media and film production and firmly believe in the future of cloud-based applications.
