1. Blending Delivery Workspaces with Review and Verification

Content delivery is more than just sending files; it’s also about aligning metadata conventions and quality control across stakeholders. Limecraft’s enhanced Delivery Workspaces ensure streamlined, transparent, and reliable processes for order fulfilment and servicing.

We’re excited to announce that this release delivers video review and verification as part of the Delivery Workspace. This life saving feature further streamlines content delivery for producers and broadcasters, reducing the time between order confirmation and fulfilment more than ever before.

What’s New?

To date, video review and approval were tasks typically associated with production processes. With this update, the Delivery Workspace now includes a built-in system for review and verification, ensuring that submitted video content meets quality standards before it is stages for distribution.

As of the Limecraft 2024.8 release, video verification is now integrated as part of the delivery workspace

How It Works

This new capability addresses a common challenge: sometimes Limecraft doesn’t directly receive video files, especially when they’re delivered peer-to-peer between producers and broadcasters. To bridge this gap, we’ve developed a cloud connector that broadcasters can run on their hardware. This allows Limecraft to create proxies — smaller, review-ready versions of video files — without changing the way producers already deliver their content.

Here’s a simplified breakdown of the process:

  • Content Upload: Producers deliver video files directly to broadcasters, just as they normally would.
  • Creation of a Proxy: the broadcaster’s hardware runs Limecraft Cloud Connector, automatically generating a proxy version of the video.
  • Review and Approval: the proxies is automatically linked to the right items in the Delivery Workspace. Producers, broadcasters, and 3rd party service providers can now review the content in a secure online environment and without the the need for additional review tools.
  • Feedback Loop: Comments and approvals happen within the Delivery Workspace, ensuring clear communication.

What’s in It for You?

If you are a Limecraft customer using the Delivery Workspace, here’s why this matters. No more juggling multiple platforms or manually uploading files for review. Everything happens within one unified workspace. The cloud connector eliminates the need for manual intervention to generate reviewable video proxies. This boils down to a shorter turnaround time and a more efficient workflow.

Producers, broadcasters, and service providers can now review content at the click of a button. No complicated setups or redundant exports. Having an integrated review and approval process ensures that everyone stays on the same page, reducing miscommunication and potential errors.

2. Restricted Comments

In any production or delivery workspace, effective collaboration hinges on clear communication during review and approval. Comments are an integral tool for exchanging feedback, verifying content, and streamlining production workflows. However, not all comments are meant for every viewer. This is where Restricted Comments come into play.

Restricted Comments allow users to control who can see specific comments based on elevated access permissions. This feature ensures that sensitive or context-specific feedback is only visible to relevant team members, such as project leads, legal teams, or executive reviewers.

⚠️ Restricted comments are not enabled by default, Restricted Comments must be activated first by the Workspace or Account Admin. To learn more about activating the use of Restricted Comments, please have a look at the applicable section in the knowledge base.

Why It Matters

By leveraging Restricted Comments, you can balance open collaboration with privacy and security, ensuring feedback reaches the right people while safeguarding sensitive information:

  • Enhanced Security: Protect sensitive or confidential feedback from unintended exposure.
  • Contextual Clarity: Share detailed, role-specific instructions without cluttering the general comment stream.
  • Improved Collaboration: Foster open discussion while maintaining control over sensitive communications.

How it Works

Assuming Restricted Comments are activated by your production workspace administrator, upon commenting, the user can select the access level for each comment. “Restricted Comments” marked as such are only visible to people that have elevated access permissions.

Editing Comments and Changing the Restriction Level

Assuming you have sufficient permission to do so, comments can be retroactively manipulated to change the restriction level, either per individual comment of in batch. More info about editing comments on the knowledge base.
