IBC 2026, Ingest, Release Notes, Press Release Limecraft 2026.5 – Multicam Quad View, Audio Sync and Mobile Notifications Jonna KokkoJuly 28, 2026 With Limecraft 2026.5, we are taking another important step towards faster, more dependable workflows for productions handling large volumes of synchronised material. The headline is a new Multicam Player for multicamera production. Clips belonging to the same multicam group can now be reviewed simultaneously, while users retain the option to switch back to an individual camera view. This makes it considerably easier to understand what happened across several cameras before material reaches the edit suite. We are also introducing a audio-based media synchronisation in Limecraft Edge. Instead of relying exclusively on timecode, Limecraft can compare audio fingerprints to identify matching or overlapping recordings. This provides a practical alternative when camera clocks were not synchronised correctly, timecode metadata is incomplete or material would otherwise need to be aligned manually. The release also extends the Limecraft Mobile App with push notifications. Review comments, upload results, workspace changes and resource threshold alerts can now reach users wherever they are, helping them respond more quickly without continuously checking the browser application. These developments form part of our broader investment in high-volume multicamera workflows. An end-to-end solution from ingest and synchronisation to live logging, review, preparation and delivery to Avid, to significantly reduce the amount of repetitive technical work required before editors can start working with the material. Arriving shortly before IBC, Limecraft 2026.5 provides a first view of several capabilities we will be demonstrating in Amsterdam, particularly for studio entertainment, reality, factual and other productions working with large numbers of cameras and recording devices. Review multicamera recordings in quad view Limecraft uses a technical Multicam ID to group recordings captured simultaneously and uploaded through Limecraft Edge. With the new multicam viewer, those grouped clips can now be played together in a quad-view grid. A grid control in the player allows users to switch between multicam playback and the familiar single-camera view. The clip from which playback was started appears in the top-left position and acts as the main reference. The other camera angles follow its playback position based on timecode. The Multicam Player gives production staff a clearer and more efficient overview of the available coverage. Instead of opening recordings individually, they can compare several angles at once, identify the most relevant material and understand the relationship between recordings before sending them further into the editorial workflow. The quad-view player is an important building block in Limecraft’s continuing investment in large-volume multicamera production. It complements automated ingest, media synchronisation, live logging and AAF export, helping reduce the preparation work that traditionally sits between the shoot and the edit. Synchronise media using audio fingerprints Timecode-based synchronisation is efficient when all recording device have been configured correctly. In practice, however, clocks can drift, devices may not have been jam-synchronised, metadata can be missing or individual recordings may contain incorrect timecode. Correcting these issues manually is both time-consuming and vulnerable to human error. The new audio-based synchronisation option in Limecraft Edge provides an alternative. Limecraft fingerprint each recording and compares it with the fingerprints of other clips. Matching or overlapping audio can then be used to identify recordings that belong together and determine their relative positions. The process presents suggested multicam groupings and flags potential issues for review. A timeline column visualises the overlap between recordings, making it easier to inspect the proposed result before continuing. Media synchronisation now runs as an asynchronous workflow, improving robustness and allowing users to follow progress through the Jobs overview while continuing with other work. ⚠️ Audio-based synchronisation is initially available as a beta capability in Limecraft Edge. It is particularly useful for productions where reliable timecode cannot be guaranteed, as well as for archive or externally supplied material that would otherwise require manual alignment. Stay informed with mobile notifications The updated Limecraft Mobile App now supports push notifications, allowing users to stay informed without keeping Limecraft open throughout the day. Notifications can be enabled from the user settings in the app. The first supported notification types include: Review comments: Receive an alert when collaborators add comments or feedback, helping keep review and approval moving. Workspace notifications: Be informed when a workspace is created, deleted or reconfigured. Resource threshold alerts: Receive advance warning when usage approaches subscription limits for cloud storage, managed or ingested media, or transcription. Upload status updates: Find out when an upload completes successfully or encounters an error. Bringing these notifications to mobile devices helps shorten response times and gives operational users greater visibility into workflows that may continue running while they are away from their desks. On-demand transcoding with Cloud Connector Subject to the appropriate licence, Limecraft Cloud Connector for Windows can now perform transcoding as part of custom workflow implementations. One important application is the preparation and delivery of synchronised media through Avid AAF workflows. This extends the role of Limecraft Cloud Connector beyond file movement and makes it possible to execute more of the media preparation process close to the connected storage environment. Near-real-time integration with Live Timecode Notes The integration used to import logging metadata from the Live Timecode Notes app has been moved to a fully API-based implementation. Notes can now be synchronised with Limecraft in near real time as they are recorded, improving the availability of production context during review and preparation. Clearer workflow warnings Workflow overviews in Limecraft can now display warnings as a distinct status. This helps users distinguish between a completely failed workflow and one that completed but requires attention. More consistent recording-device metadata The previous labels “Camera Name” and “Device Name” have been consolidated into the clearer “Recording Device” field. For synchronised clips, incorrect recording-device values introduced during ingest can also be corrected from the clip details in Limecraft Flow. This supports more reliable downstream processing, including AAF export. Better visibility during collaborative review The Review and Subclip applications now indicate when another collaborator has created or updated a comment. Users can refresh the content and avoid continuing to work with an outdated view of the discussion. The colour used to display subclips in the player can also be customised, making it easier to adapt the interface to particular working practices. Safer re-ingest behaviour Re-ingesting media through Limecraft Edge will no longer overwrite existing clip metadata unless the user explicitly chooses to do so. This reduces the risk of losing metadata that was added or corrected after the original ingest. The release also includes a correction ensuring that updated workspace thumbnail images are displayed properly.
